Action
Draft, refine, and send outreach or UGC replies for a citation opportunity, and track every draft in the Action Outbox.
The Action screen is where you turn a citation opportunity into something you can send or post. Each opportunity gets one of two action types, decided by its type:
- Outreach Email — for opportunities typed as Outreach. You compose and send an email to the page owner.
- UGC Reply — for opportunities typed as UGC or Other. You draft a reply to post yourself on a forum or community thread.
You reach this screen by clicking the action button on an opportunity row (for example "Compose Email" or "Draft Reply").
Generating a draft
When no draft exists yet, click Generate Draft. GEOforge writes a first version using the source page, its context, and your brand details. For outreach, it also tries to find a contact email for the page and fills the To field if it finds one.
The left panel shows the source context you're drafting against — URL, domain, competitors mentioned, priority score, citation frequency, and the prompt categories the source shows up in.
Refining a draft
After a draft exists, refinement buttons rewrite it for you. The options depend on the action type.
Outreach Email:
- Personalize — works in details specific to the recipient and page.
- Add Proof Point — adds a concrete fact or result to back up the pitch.
- Shorten — cuts length while keeping the core message.
UGC Reply:
- Regenerate — produces a fresh draft from scratch.
- Make Concise — tightens the existing reply.
- Add Proof Point — adds supporting evidence.
Each refinement replaces the current draft. Edit by hand any time — the body is a plain text field, and a word count sits below it.
Saving, copying, and overrides
Use Save to store your edits as the final version. Copy puts the draft (and subject, for email) on your clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere.
The Overrides section in the left panel lets you change the opportunity's type, set a manual priority score (0–100), or set a contact email. Save overrides separately from the draft.
Sending an outreach email
For outreach actions, Send Email appears once you have a recipient and a subject. Click it, confirm the recipient, then confirm again to send.
A few things to know about sending:
- Drafts that still contain template placeholders like
[Name]or[Your Company]are blocked. Fill them in first. - If your brand has a verified sending domain connected, the email goes from that address; otherwise it uses the shared GEOforge sender.
- Replies route back to your CiteForge Inbox, threaded by conversation.
- Contacts who have unsubscribed are blocked from further sends.
After a successful send the action is marked Sent with the date. If the recipient already received an email, the button reads Resend.
Posting a UGC reply
UGC replies are posted by you, not sent by GEOforge. When the draft is ready, click Open Thread & Post. This opens the source page in a new tab and marks the opportunity as actioned, so you can paste your reply there.
Skipping an opportunity
If an opportunity isn't worth pursuing, click Skip. It moves to Skipped status and drops out of your active queue. Click Unskip to bring it back to New.
The Action Outbox
The Action Outbox lists every draft you've created across the brand, with the source, a subject or preview, and a status. Filter by the tabs at the top:
- Draft — generated but not yet edited or sent.
- Edited — you've saved a final version but haven't sent it.
- Sent — the outreach email has gone out.
- Skipped — the opportunity was skipped.
Click Open on any row to return to that opportunity's action screen and pick up where you left off.
To record whether a sent or posted action actually earned a citation, use the Tracking screen — see Tracking.
